The office of the Defence Attaché at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Skopje.

The Defence Attaché is the military representative of the Minister of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff and the Commanders-in-Chief of the Royal NL Navy (RNLN), the Royal NL Army (RNLA), the Royal Air Force (RNLAF) and the Royal Military Police (RNLMP).

The Defence Attaché is accredited both to the Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Albania.

The office of the Defence Attaché provides information to the concerned authorities in the Netherlands on all relevant matters in the area of national defence and of the armed forces, as well as on defence material related subjects.

The office provides advice to the Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Albania on defence-related matters and aims to promote and maintain security and stability in Macedonia and Albania by working closely with the institutions of the host countries, in particular the Ministry of Defence and with other Defence Attachés, accredited to the Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Albania. The office assists in the reform and modernisation of the Macedonian and Albanian armed forces through bilateral assistance, co-operation and training. Support is tailored to helping Macedonia and Albania in their path towards NATO membership.

The Defence Attaché is also the contact person for the Netherlands military personnel and other representatives of the Ministry of Defence, who are ordered for active duty in Macedonia or Albania.
