Macedonian field hockey representation won the match against the team of the Embassy of the Netherlands in Skopje that took place last Saturday in Ohrid. In its first official match, the Macedonian representation won the Dutch team 5:4. The Dutch team was led on the field by the Ambassador Simone Filippini who was excellent in the role of a hockey player. Ambassador Filippini informed that the Netherlands has already supported the Macedonian Field Hockey Federation with equipment for the representation and the clubs, and that there are ongoing negotiations for establishing a co-operation with a Dutch field hockey club. “I am positive that apart from the friendly matches we will also play many official ones in the future” – said Filippini. Dejan Panoski, President of the Macedonian Field Hockey Federation said that, with the support of the Netherlands Embassy, the Agency for Youth and Sports and the  local self-government, they will construct an open-air field: “It is our goal to promote the field hockey in Macedonia into an Olympic discipline so that in the future the Macedonian representation will be able to take part at the Olympic Games” – Panovski stated.
