On 10 June, the Netherlands Ambassador, Simone Filippini, attended the celebration of the 5th Anniversary of the  Police Academy in Idrizovo, just outside Skopje. The Netherlands have substantially supported the Academy, which has to contribute to a professional, impartial and well-trained future police force.   

Interior Minister Gordana Jankulovska delivered a speech at this occasion where she said that by implementation of the reforms, the establishment of a secure professional system of border control and regional cooperation promotion, the Macedonian police respond to the challenges in domestic, regional and global framework, “The implementation and promotion of the European democratic principles and standards is the path Macedonia chose for its future. These values and ideas in the police are crucial for the reformation of the MoI and the Police Academy plays a very important role in this process” , Jankulovska pinpointed.
