The Macedonian Opera and ballet was transformed into a ring: numerous audience on one side and the dancers from “Gallili Dance Company” on the other. Skopje does not remember when was the last time the audience remained in the theatre for such a long time after the performance. The title “Hot” of the performance of the renown Dutch choreographer of Israeli origin, Itzik Gallili, fully described the atmosphere hat was created in the theatre hall. The twenty dancers from “Gallili Dance Company” have presented impressive physical condition and passion in all three choreographies. They literally played with the light and created magic on the stage. The audience loved the second part entitled “The Sofa Scene”, in which three dancers performed an attractive choreography with a great amount of humour and interesting movements.

The Dutch Were Delighted by the Reaction of the Macedonian Audience

The team from the Netherlands arrived to Skopje one day after the premiere of their newest piece “Illusion” in Groningen. They were pleasantly surprised by the reaction of the audience and especially by the warm welcome from their hosts, the Cultural Centre “Interart”. “The people in Skopje are very hospitable. The reaction of the audience was a remarkable experience for us. This is the first time we are performing in this part of the world” – said Gallili during the press conference after their performance. He explained that the stage light is very important for him, since this is the way he brings his ideas closer to the audience. For him, the light is the heart of the performance.
