MOST Announces Preliminary Statement on the Re-runs of the Early Parliamentary Elections
The Citizens Association MOST announces its preliminary statement on the re-run of the Early Parliamentary Elections 2008 which is based on the reports from the 310 observers who were deployed at 86% of the polling station where the re-run took place.
The re-run day of the Early Parliamentary Elections 2008 is being assessed by MOST as peaceful, with robust police presence and serious violations of the voting procedure at certain polling stations. The MOST observers have detected considerable number of family voting, proxy voting, cases when voters were not identified and multiply voting. The highest percent of the polling stations marked by these kinds of violations are the ones from Election District 6.
The re-run of the Early Parliamentary Elections 2008 prevented the violent conduct of the criminal groups, but it did not contribute towards having significant change of the entire image of the elections, especially in the filed of conduct of the voting procedure.
