Opening of 34th Branch of the ProCredit Bank in Kriva Palanka
On 27 February Mr. Govert Visser, Deputy Head of Mission attended the formal opening of the 34th branch of the ProCredit bank in Kriva Palanka. In his speech, during the opening event he congratulated the ProCredit bank on its performance in Macedonia, since it established itself well in a period of only 4 years. The Netherlands has been supportive to the setting up of the Pro Credit bank since the beginning in 2004 and is currently a shareholder via the Dutch Financing Company FMO (Finance Co-operation for Development).
The opening was furthermore attended by Mrs. Carina Dunker, Regional Branch Manager and Mr. Dragi Trajchevski, Mayor of the municipality of Kriva Palanka. Since its opening, the branch in Kriva Palanka provides services to more than 580 clients and disbursed loans to the amount of € 90,000.
Mr. Visser furthermore visited Joakim Krcovski primary school in Kriva Palanka (1115 pupils) that has received financial support through the Dutch co-financed Education Modernisation Project of the Worldbank. This support has been used for teacher training, infrastructural repairs and teaching equipment.
