In the period 18 and 19 March 2008 the Dutch Customs carried out a workshop on simplified procedures for the Macedonian Customs. In these two days, two experts from the Dutch Customs, Mr. Clemens Wildenborg and Mr. Cor Willemse, exchanged their experiences with their Macedonian colleagues regarding the possibilities of using simplified procedures in Macedonia to facilitate trade and industry. On the side of the Macedonian Customs, 17 participants from all over the country participated in this workshop.

The Director General of the Macedonian Customs, Mr. Vanco Kargov, emphasized the importance of the implementation of simplified procedures within the
Customs. In a very open atmosphere different simplified procedures, such as local clearance for import and export, Customs warehouse and Inward  Processing have been discussed during the workshop. In addition, the Macedonian Customs brought in some practical cases to be discussed among the experts and the participants to find a “Best Practise” solution. It can be said that these  two days have been very successful and give the Macedonian Customs the tools to provide trade and industry an ever better facilitation in there logistic process.
