A Group of Pensioners Visited the Children from "Detelinka" Kindergarten
On 11 March, there was an event held at the kindergarten Detelinka in Madzari neighborhood in Skopje, where a group of elderly paid a visit to the children in the kindergarten and spent couple of hours with them in joint activities. This event is part of a larger project supported by the Netherlands Embassy and implemented by Humanost NGO, which takes place in 2010 in a number of kindergartens around Skopje. The goal of the project is to bring the elderly out of the isolation which they are facing in their later years, and introduce some new activities in their daily routines, while at the same time promoting with the young generations the traditional values of respecting the elderly and learning from their vast experience.

The elderly who are included in the project are volunteering to participate in it, they are all above the age of 70 and reside either alone or in a collective home for elderly operated by Humanost. Together with the children they are involved in educational activities which are part of the regular curricula of the kindergartens.
The 11 March event was attended by representatives of the Macedonian Ministry of Labor and Social Policy and Mr. Gert Kampman, the Deputy Ambassador
