Small Embassy Projects

There are two types of small embassy projects:
- Small Embassy Projects (PKP) and
- MATRA/KAP Projects

Small Embassy Projects (PKP)

The Small Embassy Projects (PKP) program is intended to support local initiatives of Macedonian NGOs, and its underlying goal is poverty alleviation.
The project proposals are received and reviewed preferably throughout the first half of the calendar year. The proposed activities must originate from the community or NGO that is implementing them. They should target a clearly defined group of people who are actively involved and contribute to the
project implementation. The results of the projects should be sustainable once they are completed.

The Embassy contribution can not be used for emergency aid, regular running costs of the NGO; furniture or equipment purchase; it can not be made available to political or religious organisations and media.

PKP projects cannot be used for any donations.

MATRA/KAP- Small Embassy Projects

Matra is a major programme run by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It has a wide range of components, and its aim is to support the process of social transformation in Central and Eastern Europe. It focuses on activities that contribute to the further development of an open, pluralist, democratic society, firmly embedded in the rule of law.

Matra seeks in particular to strengthen the fabric of civil society, stressing the importance of cooperation and interaction between private and public bodies. The Matra Small Embassy Projects Programme, better known as Matra/KAP, is part of it. The application forms for MATRA/KAP projects are the same as PKP ones.
