This August, 24 Rock School students and seven teachers/coordinators will travel from Mitrovica to Skopje, Macedonia, for a summer rock school. Last year, we had an incredibly successful and fun week with 19 pioneer Rock School students, which we kicked off with a group jam session and ended with an unforgettable open-air concert. The week generated so much enthusiasm that we decided to start in Mitrovica as soon as possible: it became the launch of the Mitrovica Rock School.

During the Summer School, the participants will receive band coaching and rock music workshops in mixed bands. At the end of the week, all bands will perform in an open-air concert. Hopefully, we will also be able to produce a recording this time around!

We're bringing an almost entirely new group this year, and will be working on a new program. The program will be designed by the  Fontys Rock Academy (Tilburg, NL;), which has become a long-term partner in the project. The training will be held at University of Audiovisual Arts ESRA ( http://www.esra.com.mk/).

Workshops
Participants can sign up for workshops and master classes, including:

• performance workshops (both for singers and for whole bands)
• improvising (per instrument)
• rock music techniques in singing
• songwriting
• famous guitar solos
• famous bass riffs
• percussion
• rythm section workshops
• singing/keys (accompanying)
• singing for non-singers

Concert
The week will end with a concert at which all bands will perform the songs they choose at the beginning of the week. The concert will be on Friday August 28.
