International Conference: Importance of development of NSDI for the Republic of Macedoniabased on INSPIRE directive


On the 27 of March 2009, in the premises of the FON University, Skopje, the scientific International conference was held on topic: ‘Importance of development of National spatial data infrastructure (NSDI) for the Republic of Macedonia based on INSPIRE directive’. The conference was organised under the umbrella of Scientific Institution “Independent researcher Dr. Boris Nikodinovski” and FON University and State University Tetovo as co-organisers.
Approximately 100 participants were present and 51 authors and co-authors presented their scientific papers which addressed very important themes for the development of the future NSDI in Macedonia.
The president of the MHNA had a presentation on the topic: ‘Spatial Data Component – the Fundament for the Macedonian NSDI’ and he used this opportunity briefly to inform the participants about:
• Educational programmes, possibilities for study in the Netherlands, as well as funding and possibilities for obtaining scholarships,
• Mak Holl Nuffic Asociation and possibilities that Nuffic and MTEC programmes are offering,
• ITC - general info, knowledge field, programmes/courses, research,
MHNA also had its space at the advertising booth where a lot of students and participants showed their interest and received brochures about Nuffic fellowship programme, Study in Holland and ITC Institute.
